Is there a roguelike deck builder that works offline with no account?

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Yes. Many single-player roguelike deck builders run fully on the phone: no sign-in, saves kept on the device, and no connection needed to play. Some others ask you to log in, need a connection for daily challenges or leaderboards, or keep your progress on a server. A five-minute test tells you which kind you have.

How to test a game before a flight

  1. Read the store page. Look for plain words such as "plays offline" or "no account". On Google Play, the Data safety section lists what the app collects.
  2. Open it once at home. Start a run and play a full fight while you are still online.
  3. Turn on airplane mode. Close the game fully, open it again, and play another fight. Then open the menu, settings and any daily challenge.
  4. Watch for sign-in prompts. A game that asks you to log in before you can play is not account-free, even if it plays offline later.
  5. Note what still needs the network. Purchases always do. Leaderboards, cloud saves and some daily modes may too.

What you give up with no account

For many players that trade is worth it: nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to, and a game that works on a plane or a train.

How Saltreckon does it

Saltreckon is a roguelike deck builder at sea for one player. It plays offline and has no account. Open the game and sail. Your runs, progress and settings are kept on your device. The game uses the network for store purchases and for crash and performance diagnostics, which are on by default and can be switched off in Settings, under Diagnostics.

The daily voyage works without an account. It is one voyage a day, the same for everyone. Your first voyage of the day is your result, and replays are practice. There is no online leaderboard. You can share your result as a line of text.

Seeds let you race a friend. A seed is 8 letters and numbers, and the same seed sails the same chart. Copy one from the end of a run and send it.

Backups are yours to start. Backup and restore are free. The game never backs up on its own: you save a backup file in the place you choose. It holds your runs, daily results, progress, settings and the run in progress. Restore checks the file first and replaces nothing unless it passes. The Full voyage unlock is never in the file. Restore purchases brings it back through your Google account.

On a phone, the game plays upright in one hand. Act 1 is free on Calm, from the first stop to the boss. One purchase, paid once, opens the rest.
