What we collect

Skinweight has no sign-up and no user account. We do not collect your name, email, address, contacts or location, and we do not collect any of the content you save in the app. That content never leaves your device except through an action you take yourself, such as a backup, an export, or a pack list you choose to share.

What Skinweight keeps on your device

Everything you enter is stored in the app's own local database and photo folder on your device:

• Your gear closet: each item's name, brand, variant, category, weight, unit, price, link, notes and whether it is worn or consumable.
• Photos you attach to gear.
• Your packs: which items are in each, how many, and how each is carried (packed, worn, hand-carried or carried by someone else), plus your consumables plan, checklists and starter-template choices.
• Rules and reminders you set for a pack, and the kits you group gear into.
• Lists you import from a LighterPack-compatible CSV file you pick.
• App settings such as appearance, language, units, your app lock preference and your cached purchase state.

None of this is transmitted to us. We have no copy of it and no way to read it.

Diagnostics

To find and fix bugs, Skinweight sends anonymous diagnostics. This is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in the app, at Settings → Diagnostics. Nothing is captured or sent once it is off. What a report can contain:

• The app and its version, the platform such as iOS or Android, and the OS version.
• The error type, message and code stack trace.
• Technical log lines, which record what the app did and never anything you typed.
• A layout snapshot, which records the structure of the screen only, with no text and no images.
• Anonymous performance timings, such as app start time, slow or frozen frames, and how long a screen takes to open.

There are no screenshots and no screen recordings, no device identifier, no user identifier, and none of your gear. Reports go to two recipients, both controlled by that one switch:

• A Cloudflare Worker operated by Trueframe Digital, which receives the report above. Your IP address is discarded at ingestion and never stored.
• Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), running in the EU / Frankfurt region, a crash-diagnostics processor that adds native-crash and crash-free-rate visibility. It receives the crash stack, device and OS information, the performance timings, and an anonymous crash-free session status that is not tied to any person or to a stable device or user identifier. We run it in a privacy-minimal mode: no IP or personal-data collection, no user identity, no session replay and no screenshots. See the Sentry privacy policy.

When diagnostics are off, neither recipient receives anything.

Camera, photos and app lock

The app asks for camera or photo-library access only when you take or attach a photo of a piece of gear. It reads only the photos you pick, and nothing else in your library. Photos are stored on your device. App Lock, if you turn it on, uses a PIN you choose and your device's own Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint, and never leaves the device.

Siri and Shortcuts

On Apple devices, Skinweight offers a few actions to Shortcuts and Siri, such as opening a pack. These run on your device through Apple's own system and do not send your gear list anywhere.

Backups, imports, exports and shared lists

You can save a backup archive of every record and every photo whenever you choose, to a folder you pick or, on Apple devices, to your own iCloud Drive. The app can also keep a few recent backup copies on the device itself. You can import a LighterPack-compatible CSV you supply, export your gear list as a CSV in the same shape, and produce a pack sheet as a PDF, an HTML page, a Markdown file or a share card. Links in an imported file are kept as text; the app never fetches remote images or pages. All of these are created only when you ask for one, they go to the location you pick or through your device's normal share sheet, and they are never sent to us. We have no server that receives them. If you use iCloud Drive, that file is held under your own Apple account, subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Purchases

Skinweight Pro is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription anywhere in the app. Payment is handled entirely by the store you installed from, and we never see your card details, billing address or store account. Purchase status is managed through RevenueCat, our purchase processor, which receives the store receipt, an anonymous app identifier and standard request information so the app can grant and restore your purchase. Details are in the RevenueCat privacy policy. We never send it your gear, packs or photos. Skinweight also keeps a local cache of your entitlement so it works offline, at a trailhead with no signal included.

On Apple devices, Universal Purchase and Family Sharing apply where supported: one purchase can cover your other Apple devices and family members signed in to the same account.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data, and there are no advertising SDKs and no third-party behavioural-tracking SDKs in the app. The only information that ever leaves your device on its own is the anonymous diagnostics described above. Store purchase processing is handled by the app store and the purchase processor under their own policies.

Your control and deletion

Because your data is stored locally, you are in full control of it. You can delete any item, pack, photo or record from within the app, or remove everything by deleting the app from your device. Backups and exports you created are managed by you, in the location you saved them.

Children

Skinweight is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
