Is there an app to log what I carry every day (EDC carry log)?

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Tangmark has a carry log built for EDC: pick what you are carrying today, save it as a loadout to reuse, and look back two weeks to see what you actually carried. A home-screen widget shows today's carry at a glance, never a value and never a location.

Most collection apps stop at a catalog. EDC needs a second layer on top: what you actually carried today, not just what you own.

How to start a daily carry log

  1. Catalog the pieces you actually rotate through first: knife, light, multitool, whatever else lives in your pocket or bag.
  2. Log today's carry as you leave the house, not at the end of the day from memory.
  3. Save a repeated combination as a loadout so you are not rebuilding it every morning.
  4. Check a widget or shortcut instead of opening the full app when you just want to confirm what is on you.
  5. Look back over a couple of weeks occasionally to see what actually gets carried versus what sits in a drawer.
  6. Do not treat a missed day as a failure. A carry log is a record, not a streak to keep.

How Tangmark does it

Tangmark's carry log sits alongside the full collection catalog. Pick today's pieces, save common combinations as loadouts, and pull up a two-week look-back to see the pattern of what you carry. A home-screen widget shows today's carry without opening the app, and never shows a value or a storage location, even if those fields are filled in on the piece itself.

A day you do not log is simply no record for that day. There is no streak, no guilt stat and nothing that nags you about it. The log only reflects what you chose to enter.

Around the carry log sits the rest of the collection: every piece gets a permanent inventory number and full specs, and knives, flashlights and multitools each get their own field sets. There is also a maintenance log for sharpening angle, grits, compound, oiling and service, so the tool side of EDC (not just the carrying side) has a record too.

Tangmark is free for your first 15 pieces of any kind, with 3 photos each, and that includes the carry log and carry history at no cost, forever. Tangmark Pro is US$29.99, paid once, and lifts the piece and photo caps and adds document attachments, working reminders, two-steel compare and a privacy pack. There is no subscription. There is no cloud sync: move the collection between devices with the backup file.

Tangmark is live on Google Play. iPhone, iPad and Mac are submitted and waiting for App Store review. Windows follows later.
