Is there a pet health record app with no account and no subscription?
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Yes. Several pet health record apps need no account, and some can be used without a subscription. PetChronicle is one option: no account, a free plan with no expiry for 1 active pet, and a one-time Lifetime purchase. It also sells monthly and yearly subscriptions, so you choose. It is not the only app like this. Use the checklist below to compare.
Five things to check
- Account: do you have to sign up before you can add a pet?
- Where records live: on your device, or on the maker's servers?
- Export: can you get your records out as a file, and is that free?
- One-time option: is there a pay-once price, or only subscriptions?
- Free plan: how many pets, photos and documents, and does it expire?
What exists
A search on 2026-10-06 turned up these. Check each store page before you rely on it, because plans change.
- Offline Pet Health Tracker, GentlePet, Pet Care Tracker: Health Log, PetDiary and Pet Medical Records PRO are described as working without an account. Some are free, some sell a one-time purchase, and some sell a subscription.
- 11pets needs an account. It has a free plan and a paid subscription that adds more pets and features.
- PetDesk is free and linked to partner vet clinics, for appointment requests and reminders. You create an account to use it.
How PetChronicle fits
PetChronicle records vaccines with due dates, vet visits, medications with a dose history, weight, observations, reminders and a vet-ready PDF, for dogs, cats and other pets.
- Account: none. No sign-in.
- Where records live: on the device. You choose when to export or back up.
- Export: always free. JSON and CSV export, and a full backup file with photos. On Apple devices you can also back up to iCloud Drive. Backup is not sync.
- Free plan: 1 active pet (archived and memorial pets do not count), 20 photos and 5 documents per pet, 3 scans per install, everyday health records, reminders, a vet PDF preview, a lost-pet poster, first aid and an app lock. No trial and no expiry.
- Pro prices in the US: Monthly US$2.99, Yearly US$14.99 (auto-renewing) or Lifetime US$39.99 (one-time). Other countries pay local prices.
Pro adds more pets, photos, documents and scans, save, share and print for the vet PDF, weight charts and health trends, and pedigree and breeding records.
So you can use PetChronicle free for one pet with no expiry, or pay once for Lifetime. You do not need a subscription.
PetChronicle is not a fit if you want live sharing with family or a vet, clinic booking or refills. It has no sync and no sharing link. You can share the PDF (Pro) or a backup file.
PetChronicle does not give veterinary advice. Ask a licensed vet about your pet's health.
Records are kept on the device. Purchases go through Apple or Google Play. Crash diagnostics are on by default and can be turned off in Settings under Diagnostics.
PetChronicle is live on Google Play. iPhone, iPad and Mac are submitted and waiting for App Store review.
